Privacy
We hold the minimum we need to run a membership body, for as long as you are a member and six years afterwards. We do not sell or share it.
What we hold
Your name, institutional email, institution, membership class and payment history. If you convene an event, teach a course or circulate a post, we also hold what you have listed here. If you apply for a grant, we hold your application and the panel's decision.
Why we hold it
To administer your membership, to run reservations and CPD records, and to meet our obligations as a registered charity. Our lawful basis is contract for membership administration and legitimate interest for the Thursday digest, which you may leave at any time.
Special category data
We do not ask for health information. Lived-experience co-applicants on grant applications may disclose it voluntarily; where they do, only the grants panel sees it, and it is deleted after the round closes.
Who else sees it
Our payment processor, our email provider and our accountants — each under contract, none permitted to use it for anything else. We do not transfer data outside the UK or EEA.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it once you are no longer a member. Email the office; we answer within one month. If we get it wrong, you may complain to the Information Commissioner.
